Please find below some notes about the meal arrangements (please note this is based on our previous experience, so it’s possible that the arrangements could change).
The meals that are included with the tour are set meals. On previous trips, people have sat in groups of 4-6 and they have brought out a range of dishes for that group. This means that if there are a few vegetarians they can cater for them together, but it does mean they will probably always need to sit together and flexibility may be needed over the range of dishes provided etc. For other dietary requirements, it would be difficult for the restaurants to cater for this due to this system of set meals and also because they are not used to catering for such diets. As there is a range of dishes in each set, you should hopefully be able to find things you can eat. For the meals that are not included in the tour package, you are free to choose what/where you eat, though it’s worth bearing in mind that many dishes have sauces that are likely to contain flour etc.
For the flights, Vietnam Airways offer categories e.g. vegetarian or gluten free. You can check the full list of categories on their website. They aren't able to offer specific meal requests that don't fit in one of their categories e.g. vegetarian with no onion. We will choose the category that we think matches closest with your dietary requirement but please let us know if you have a specific request (e.g. if your diet is gluten free and vegetarian you can let us know if you would prefer the gluten free option or the vegetarian option, otherwise we will choose one of these).
