Come and join us in the grounds of Otford Manor to reconnect with each other and focus our hearts and minds on Jesus.

The spring of 2020 has been a difficult time for many of us and it feels like we need to go on an Oak Hall Expedition; but we want to do it responsibly at this strange moment in history.

Oak Hall exists so that we can go on adventures together, grow in friendship and fix our eyes on the One who made us.

We would like to invite you to join us in the fields around Otford Manor for a unique adventure that will enable us to be together in a way that is carefully designed to be in line with government guidance to keep each other safe at this time.

Marshmallows and catching up...

Large pitches spread across the fields around Otford Manor enable us to camp, toast marshmallows and catch up together. We walk across rolling hills, cycle along pretty lanes and gather fire logs in the sweet chestnut forest...

It's going to be great. Read on for the details!

A safe and responsible weekend away

This year we are all seeking to stop the transmission of COVID-19. Spending a weekend outdoors in the fresh air is one of the best ways to do this! These weekends have been carefully designed to enable us to have a safe and responsible getaway. We have organised these weekends very carefully to go beyond the government guidelines for cleanliness and hygiene.

The area for your bubble is carefully marked out: singles or households warmly welcome!

By using our Otford Manor tractor, we have carefully marked out camping areas that allow you plenty of space for just those in your bubble. This makes a lovely home for your weekend where you can be 'self-contained' and yet engaged with the whole 'Great Summer Re-Connect' event.

Some are coming as 'households' others of us are coming as singles - all are very welcome and this arrangement for the camping area works very well for all.

Carefully marked out corridors form wide paths that allow you to easily move to other areas without breaking current guidelines.

En-suite camping

Each pitch has its own toilet with a handwashing basin. It is carefully sanitised before the start of the weekend and then during the weekend it is only used by those on your pitch. Those individuals who have booked their own pitch get to enjoy en-suite camping!

Pitch area options

You can choose what sized area you would like for your bubble's pitch. When you book, pick the size that suits you best! Even the smallest is still pretty big. The largest is a square, each side of which is the length of a standard Oak Hall coach! Each pitch is equipped with its own toilet.

The pricing of these options are below:

  • 64sqm Pitch: £35.00
  • 100sqm Pitch £50.00
  • 144sqm Pitch £70.00
  • 3 person pre-erected and sanitised tent £20.00 each (up to 2 per pitch).
There is a 'per person' charge in addition (normally £15 per head).

      An exciting range of activities

150 acres of the manor's grounds provide space to explore sweet chestnut forests, big fields and beautiful views. Otford Manor's position in the heart of a nationally recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provides the perfect place to re-connect with the beauty of God's creation as we sit by our tents, walk across the North Downs and cycle along quiet lanes to pretty villages. Suggested walks and cycle routes will be made available and adult bikes can be pre-booked to hire for £35.

...and each evening we have a special series of Bible talks.

The Garden Stage: open-air auditorium for live events

We have designed a special open-air auditorium area 'the Garden Stage' where we can sit on our own chairs or bring a blanket to sit on the grass. (All arranged in compliance with current guidelines). In this space, we will be able to listen to music and other presentations as well as experience our Bible sessions...

Inspiring evening Bible teaching and opportunities for discussion

We will share times of opening the Bible together as we listen to the Bible helpfully explained.

Some of us may be thinking about the claims of Jesus for the first time - we pray these sessions will be eye-opening. We pray that for others who have been walking with Him for a long time these sessions will bring deep spiritual nourishment and encouragement.

For those who prefer to remain on their pitches, we will livestream the teaching so that they can connect as well.

If you are coming in a car, our postcode is: TN15 6XF. Please park on the pitch itself (not on the 'corridors' between). We are sorry not to be able to receive pets for these weekends.

Water: practical details for the 'Great Summer Re-Connect'

You may have noticed that while we have explained that every pitch has a private toilet, we have not yet mentioned showering facilities. This is because there will be none available! Many of us have been on adventures where we wash using bottled water - this is another such experience!

We suggest that for every person in your bubble you bring at least one large 5l bottle of water for each day. This should be plenty for drinking, washing, cooking and cups of tea! There will not be standpipes available but we will have a limited number of 5l spring water bottles for sale.

Electricity and Data: practical details for the 'Great Summer Re-Connect'

As we keep these events as simple as possible, there will not be electricity supplies available at the 'Great Summer Re-Connect'. If you want to go online you will need to use your mobile phone data allowance to go online.
