Relaunch; Refresh and Reconnect!

  • Relaunch: we’re relaunching our Otford Manor programme in a creative and COVID-secure way and we’d love you to join us!
  • Refresh: come and relax in the hills of Kent and soak in inspiring Bible teaching.
  • Reconnect: we’ve missed being together - now we can meet and share time in a carefully-created, safe environment.
During these unusual times, we’ve created a new approach to sharing weekends together at beautiful Otford Manor. We hope that you can join us as we relaunch, refresh and reconnect

A creative, safe and responsible weekend away

This year has been challenging for many of us and a break at Otford Manor is exactly what would help! We’ll be running our Otford Manor weekends in a new way - crafted creatively and appropriately for this moment, to be enjoyable and safe.

We’ve organised these weekends in line with the government guidelines for socialising, cleanliness and hygiene. Here’s how it will look…

Staying at Otford Manor: “Zones and Pods”

We will have up to thirty people visiting the manor at one time to allow each separate household to enjoy their own room. Following the English ‘tier system’, we will only be able to welcome guests from Tier 1 areas. If your location moves into Tier 2 or 3 after booking your weekend, we will return all of your money including your deposit.

The Manor has been divided into five zones. Six people will be placed into each zone. Each group of people in a zone will be called a “pod” for the duration of the event.

How do our pods work?

Each pod will share toilet and shower facilities. These will be carefully sanitised before the start of the weekend and cleaned regularly throughout your stay. During the weekend only the six people in your pod will use your facilities.

Your pod will have your own social area where you will be able to make hot drinks and spend time together. If you would like to be in the same pod as another particular guest, please let us know when you book and we will do our best to arrange this for you.

Delicious meals served from the Manor Kitchen

As always, there will be delicious food provided during the weekend. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be taken in our magnificent Tudor Dining Hall or in an additional area. Guests will eat at designated tables, in their pods, throughout the weekend.

Inspiring times together with refreshing Bible teaching

We will enjoy helpful and encouraging Bible talks where all on the weekend can come together in the Terrace Lounge. In this carefully designed environment that allows meetings while still following the government guidelines, we will listen to music and other presentations as well as experience our Bible teaching.

Some of us may be thinking about the claims of Jesus for the first time - we pray these sessions will be eye-opening. Others of us have been walking with Jesus for a long time and we pray that for you, these sessions will bring deep spiritual nourishment and encouragement.

Enjoying free time

Otford Manor's position, in the heart of a nationally recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provides the perfect place to reconnect with the wonder of God's creation. We can gaze on the magnificent vistas, walk across rolling hills or cycle along pretty lanes.

We will organise a range of events for each weekend: from walks to games, quiz evenings to films. However, if you prefer just to relax, that’s fine with us too! Suggested walks and cycle routes will be available and adult bikes can be pre-booked to hire for £35. (Please bring your own helmet.)

In line with the government guidance we will bear in mind the “rule of six” during free time.

Themed Weekends

Some of our weekends will have particular themes or activities running through them.

  • WORD. - exploring the Bible more deeply together
  • Craft at Otford Manor
  • Twenties and thirties weekend
  • Boardgames and jigsaws
Let's tell you more about each of these great weekends...

'WORD.' - exploring the Bible more deeply together

The WORD. weekends are wonderful opportunities to dig more deeply into the Scriptures. To many Christians, much of the Bible is something of a mystery. We all have our favourite passages, but how does it all fit together? Is there a map to find our way around? How can it be interpreted and applied to our fast changing 21st Century world?

Come and enjoy the November 'WORD.' teaching LIVE at the Manor with Andrew Sach as we explore 'Revolutionary Living' - the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5-7. For more information, please browse to: http://OakHall.co.uk/word

Craft at Otford Manor

You don’t have to be ‘arty’ or a master florist to create some beautiful gifts and decorations. For this weekend, we will organise various creative activities including seasonal craft sessions where you’ll be given the know-how and materials to work with. Come and soak up the atmosphere and enjoy mince pies with mulled fruit juice in the fireside cosiness.

Twenties and thirties weekend at Otford Manor

Join others in their 20s and 30s. Catch up with old friends or make new as we enjoy a range of activities in a socially distanced way! We look forward to spending time together in games, walks, sharing meals and studying God’s Word.

Welcome!

Boardgames and jigsaws

We love our annual boardgames weekend. Games will be played and jigsaws completed in our pods of six. A few games and jigsaws will be provided but please do bring your own as well.

An Otford Manor Christmas: spices, log fires and feasting!

A precious celebration of the glorious news that God came to earth in the person of the Lord Jesus. What better way to celebrate than at our Manor House in the hills of Kent? With the fragrance of Christmas spices mingling with the scent of split logs awaiting the open fire and glistening winter frosts, Otford Manor is especially magical at Christmas time!

Our full-board break starts on Christmas Eve as guests sweep down the field-lined manor driveway from 2pm. That first evening, as the fire crackles and decorations sparkle, we share a delicious meal in the Tudor Dining Hall.

As the weekend continues into Christmas Day, we'll enjoy a full Christmas banquet, carols, helpful Bible talks and great company... With just the right balance between free time and opportunities for activities, this will be a wonderful Christmas treat that takes us right through to late morning on Sunday 27 December.

Celebrating the New Year 2021

New Year at Otford Manor has become a very popular event! On New Year's Eve we savour a formal dinner in the Tudor Dining Hall and see the New Year in together! Throughout the break, we organise a quiz evening, country or coastal walks, visits to featured local places of interest, a bonfire or a film evening.

Our full-board break starts on Tuesday 29th Dec – most guests arrive between 4 and 5pm. We then enjoy an evening meal on that first evening.

Each day we can enjoy the optional activities and helpful devotional Bible talks. We leave after breakfast on Saturday 2nd January 2021!
