Come and join us

Come and join us in the grounds of Otford Manor to reconnect with each other and focus our hearts and minds on Jesus.

The past year has been a difficult time for many of us and it feels like we need to go on an Oak Hall Expedition; but we want to do it responsibly as we ease out of lockdown.

During these unusual times, we've created a new approach to sharing weekends together at beautiful Otford Manor.

The weekends on offer

As the roadmap to opening up the UK has been released, we are looking forward to welcoming you. For the period between 17th May and 19th July our weekends will look slightly different to ensure we are in line with the government guidelines for socialising, cleanliness and hygiene.

The weekends coming up are:
  • The Great Spring Re-connect. (camping).
  • Kent Cycling & North Downs Walking. (camping or Manor).
  • WORD. at the Manor. (Manor).
  • The Great Spring Re-connect. (camping).
For dates and prices and further information about each weekend and how the accommodation options work, please scroll down.

The Great Summer Re-connect

Come and join us for a three night camping weekend. The Walled Garden enables us to camp, toast marshmallows and catch up together. We walk across rolling hills, cycle along pretty lanes and gather fire logs

Food
Many of us will cook for ourselves - using camping gas cookers, bringing barbecues or even cooking in fire pits.

On each evening, you can opt for a lovely meal cooked fresh in the Otford Manor kitchen. We will deliver these meals to your camping area in recyclable packaging with utensils between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.

Kent Cycling and North Downs Walking

Join us for a long weekend - Thursday to Sunday - to walk or cycle through Kent, the 'Garden of England'. We will explore the North Downs with led activities for all of Friday and Saturday. Each afternoon we return to Otford Manor, before enjoying our evening meal and Bible message. You are welcome to bring your own bike or to hire one of ours.

Food
Meals will be cooked in the Manor kitchen and enjoyed in the open air.

WORD. At the Manor

As we ease out of lockdown we will use a pod system allowing 30 single rooms at the Manor, so you can join us for this WORD. at the Manor weekend!

Dan Wells will be teaching from the book of Hosea on Zoom and YouTube AND to us in person at the Manor! If you have enjoyed WORD. online during the last year it will be even better to come and join us here at the Manor to chat freely with others about the teaching as it happens!

Food
As always, there will be delicious food provided during the weekend. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be taken in our magnificent Tudor Dining Hall or in an additional area. Guests will eat at designated tables, in their pods, throughout the weekend.

Accommodation

As hinted at above, our accommodation options will look slightly different to usual. For these weekends the options are camping and/or a single room in the Manor:

Camping in the Walled Garden
Carefully marked out camping areas allow you plenty of space for just those in your bubble. Marked corridors form wide paths that allow you to easily move to other areas without breaking current guidelines. This makes a lovely home for your weekend where you can be 'self-contained' and yet engaged with the whole 'Great Spring Re-Connect' event. Tents are available to hire from Oak Hall and will be pitched ready for when you arrive.

Otford Manor
We will have up to thirty people visiting the manor at one time to allow each separate household to enjoy their own room. The Manor has been divided into five zones. Six people will be placed into each zone. Each group of people in a zone will be called a 'pod' for the duration of the event. Each pod will share toilet and shower facilities. These will be carefully sanitised before the start of the weekend and cleaned regularly throughout your stay. During the weekend only the six people in your pod will use your facilities.

Meetings: The Garden Stage

We will enjoy helpful and encouraging Bible talks where all on the weekends can come together.

We have designed a special open-air auditorium area 'the Garden Stage' where we can sit on our own chairs or bring a blanket to sit on the grass. (All arranged in compliance with current guidelines). In this space, we will be able to listen to music and other presentations as well as experience our Bible sessions...

The Local Area

150 acres of the manor's grounds provide space to explore and enjoy the beautiful views. Otford Manor's position in the heart of a nationally recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provides the perfect place to re-connect with the beauty of God's creation as we sit by our tents, walk across the North Downs and cycle along quiet lanes to pretty villages.
