From Korčula, we head to glamorous Hvar - known for its
sunny weather and elegant seaside promenade. Hvar is the exclusive ‘Montecarlo
of the Adriatic’ but it’s not all about luxury—Hvar is also home to lush
lavender fields, ancient olive groves, and stunning beaches. As we stroll
through this charming town we can visit the 16th-century fortress for
spectacular views toward our next, more peaceful penultimate harbour.
Bol on Brač Island, is home to Zlatni Rat, the iconic
‘Golden Horn’ beach. Framed by crystal-clear waters and pine forests, this
serene haven is perfect for water sports or simply savouring the Adriatic
breeze.
Our home for the week is a large, traditional wooden yacht. The cabins are simple and compact in size but they are en-suite and have proper beds (some in bunk bed style). The cabins above deck have natural light and there is a supplement of £48 per person for these.
It may be helpful to note that the nature of these types of boats means that there are some challenges for those with more limited mobility. Steps on traditional yachts can be steep. Also, several boats are often moored together. Therefore, to reach the shore, you have to walk through the other boats, stepping across the gaps between boats.
Each morning we stop to swim in the sea, before sailing on to our next destination. We have lunch onboard, as well as our meeting, with a Bible talk and a time of singing. From mid-afternoon into the evening we explore a new place each day with optional activities (payable locally) such as cycling or a guided tour.
This sailing adventure offers the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure, and discovery, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Adriatic Sea.
