Sweden

Join us to explore the beautiful coastal scenery of Sweden. Our accommodation is located on a small island called Stenungson, just off the Swedish mainland. It is run by a welcoming team and is built in a traditional Swedish style. Set in a beautiful wooded area it is an interesting place to explore, with chances to see red squirrels and deer. The centre has a private swimming area in the sea, which is a pleasant temperature in the summer.

Our first ride takes us to the traditional Sundsby tea rooms for our lunchtime stop. On our second ride we head across the island of Tjorn to visit Skarhamn, an attractive fishing port. A ferry ride across to the island of Orust allows us to explore this peaceful, wooded island on our third ride, while our fourth ride takes us to the interesting town of Kungalv with its riverside fortress. We will use hybrid bikes with 24 gears, which are well suited to the routes. There is also the chance to visit the interesting city of Gothenburg on a free day.

"Thank you all for the excellent organisation, the laughs, and the inspiring fellowship."

Picturesque cycle rides

New for this year, we will use 24-speed bikes. Everyone in on our cycling holiday will explore the same areas, but split into at least two groups to allow people to cycle at a speed with which they feel more comfortable. Our carefully selected routes gradually increase in length. The rides will be led by the Oak Hall team members, with the first one being around 15 miles. The longest ride is around 45 miles.

All the rides are of course optional but by building up the length of the rides through the week, the groups build up their fitness and you may well be surprised to find how far you can cycle! In both destinations there may be the option to shorten or increase the length of the ride on one or two occasions if your group wishes to do so. This makes the holidays ideal for everyone looking for an active and refreshing break.

Exciting evenings

At the end of each day, we return to our accommodation for an energising meal, as well as a Bible talk that is always a highlight. We can then relax and share stories of the day’s cycling or take part in games and activities.
