Springtime is a beautiful season in the Alps. The Alpine flowers burst into life as the snows recede, revealing the edelweiss, spring crocuses and the magnificent blue gentians. They await our discovery as we explore the many paths.

We connect with nature, staying in the heights of Tannenboden. Our chalet overlooks impressive views of the Churfirsten range of mountains. In the deep valley below there is the Walensee – a blue lake with traditional villages nestling along the shoreline.
 

A relaxing lake cruise from Walenstat

Our optional package includes three excursions: a boat trip, a visit to the spa town of Bad Ragaz, and a three-country tour.

On our boat cruise, relaxing with coffee and cake is very special in the hamlet of Quinten. The village can only be reached by boat and this is where a Mediterranean micro climate encourages figs and kiwis to thrive.
 

Bad Ragaz and our Three Country Tour

Bad Ragaz is an attractive spa town where we can explore the interesting shops and cafés or enjoy a walk through the stunning gorge nearby.

Our three-country tour completes the excursion package. This whistle-stop tour takes us first to Vaduz, the capital of the tiny principality of Liechtenstein. We then explore the ancient city of Feldkirch in Austria, and continue on to Rapperswil in Switzerland, with its beautiful lakefront walks and castle.

Exploring by cable car and walking tracks

In Heidiland there’s the spray and breathtaking experience of the roaring river thundering through the Tamina Gorge.

From near our chalet, a cable car runs to the lake in the valley below. Another gondola climbs up the slopes of Mount Maschgenkamm. From here, high in the mountain, there is a walking path to explore as it leads past five lakes.

For more Swiss springtime mountain experiences there is an exhilarating toboggan run and a nearby indoor swimming pool.

On our journey home, after leaving the accommodation we will spend the day visiting Basel, for a chance to explore another interesting part of Switzerland.

We connect with nature, staying in the heights of Tannenboden. Our chalet overlooks impressive views of the Churfirsten range of mountains. In the deep valley below there is the Walensee – a blue lake with traditional villages nestling along the shoreline. 

The Oak Hall team will be providing us with three meals a day. We invite you to join in the fun and teamwork to assist with laying the tables, for example, on one day of the holiday, making our time in Switzerland remarkably affordable.

Our accommodation has a range of different sizes and styles of room (including bunk beds in some rooms). Rooms for two, three or four people are available. Showers and toilets are located on each floor. A limited number of en-suite rooms for two are available at a supplement of £98 per person.

We have exclusive use of our mountain centre accommodation and we meet each evening to hear a helpful Bible talk.

Travel by luxury coach
S: The cost includes all taxes and return travel by luxury, air-conditioned double deck coach from Folkestone (other coach pick-ups available at Sainsbury's in Otford or Borough Green train station: £16 return. Click here for more details). It also includes accommodation in mountain centre rooms for two, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meals while at the accommodation.

Optional excursion package: £88

The deposit is £50 (if booking more than two months in advance) plus any room supplements.

Coach timings will be available once the ferry/Eurotunnel schedules have been released.

Travel by air

Independent Travel

You can select to travel independently during the booking process (NB we are unable to book one way flights or change the date of travel).

Click on 'View/Book' above to see the independent discount and the cost for the optional airport transfer.

The airport transfer is booked to coincide with the group flights. Please note that the driver would not be able to wait if you miss the transfer.

If you are travelling independently but someone else in your party will use the group flights, please make separate bookings.

If there are any changes to the holiday, we would not be able to cover the cost of changes to your independent flights. We would therefore recommend booking fully flexible tickets or joining the holiday using our flights.
