"Oak Hall continues to offer a wide range of holidays in its summer programme that are designed with adventure in mind. For those who prefer a more mellow style we have arranged ideal tours with no overnight travel. All age groups are welcome, but this holiday may particularly appeal to those in the more mature age group."

The Essence of Easter

Following the success of our pre-Christmas holidays, we are pleased to introduce an 'Essence of Easter' holiday for 2025. For this refreshing break, we are staying at the Queen's Hotel in Eastbourne in April.

Easter is a wonderful opportunity to remember the Lord's death and resurrection.

The cost of £328 represents excellent value and includes:

  • Inspiring Bible series and music each evening
  • Luxury return coach travel from Otford, Kent to the hotel
  • Four-star hotel close to the beach and seafront
  • The Queen's Hotel overlooking the pier
  • En-suite hotel rooms, all with tea-making facilities
  • Full English breakfasts each morning
  • Four evening meals
  • Time to relax and walk by the sea

Excellent excursions

There will be an optional package of two excursions by coach for 30 pounds. These take us along the South Coast with the beautiful countryside of the South Downs and the seashore. Entrance fees to any places of interest you choose to visit will be payable locally.

Rye and Battle Abbey

Our first excursion day begins with a visit to Rye, a medieval town with cobbled streets, historic buildings, and plenty of character. Explore landmarks such as the cobbled Mermaid street, a delight for photographers, or take time to browse its independent shops and cozy cafes.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit Battle, the site of the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066. Here, you can explore Battle Abbey, where the dramatic events of the Norman Conquest unfolded. Please note that the Abbey is a 10–15-minute walk from the coach drop-off point. For those who prefer not to make the walk, the village of Battle offers shops, a range of cafés, and a peaceful setting to enjoy.

Alfriston and Lewes

On our second day, we’ll visit Alfriston, a small village with a rich history. Stroll through its streets, see the historic Alfriston Clergy House or take in the village’s tranquil surroundings.

Our final stop is Lewes, a town with a mix of medieval, Georgian, and Victorian architecture. Visit Lewes Castle for views of the South Downs, explore Anne of Cleves’ House, or enjoy browsing the town’s unique antique shops.

A choice of meeting points

If you are travelling by car, you can park at Otford Manor in Kent (£17 per car) or be dropped off at Sainsbury's in Otford. If you are coming from further afield there is a pick up available from Otford train station.

You can also meet us at the hotel in Eastbourne if you prefer.
